RedEye Coffee
While I was in Tallahassee, I checked out a few places that were new to me. The first was RedEye Coffee, which I stopped at on both Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. It's on Thomasville, but I really suggest coming from Monroe, cutting over on Fifth, then turning right. The parking lot is a bit of a ways down, and it's pretty crowded. Just a head's up. The hot chocolate was pretty good, and so was the mocha frappe. The prices were pretty reasonable, and I tried both the indoor and outdoor tables.

More Tim Horton's
So, after finding out about the deliciousness of Tim Horton's when we were in Niagara Falls, we now grab it whenever we get a chance. So, when we were in Manhattan, we stopped to get some caffeine there. I had an iced mocha, Jonathan had an iced cappuccino. Yet again, both were wonderful. Overall, their stuff is SO GOOD.

Tim Horton's
We thought about going to Niagara Falls for Valentine's Day weekend this year. However, we found out that Niagara Falls is one of those "seasonal" places. Silly Floridians, we don't think of these things. :-p
So, we went the first weekend in May. Early in the "season" but everything was open. It was supposed to be a 7-hour drive each way (exactly. isn't that weird??), and we ended up taking about 10 minutes longer (gas, customs, changing places driving) than that.
We were hungry from the drive, so we tried Tim Horton's, a common fast food chain in Canada (and several states in the US, too). The prices were reasonable, the menu was small, and the quality was awesome. We both went with soup-and-sandwich, I chose chicken salad and potato soup... Jonathan went with the chicken club and chicken noodle soup. Everything was very good, and I'd recommend them. Instead of soup, for $1 less we could have had donuts with our combo meals, which we found intriguing. I got a can of Sprite with mine, Jonathan went with a cafe mocha, which was exceedingly delicious.

Cup'a Cup'a
A few of us went for a cup of coffee (mocha in my case) at Cup'a Cup'a, a local place next to the Kennedy Center during a break. Loved it.

Red Rock Coffee
We're not really coffee people, and when given the opportunity, I usually take a hot chocolate or a spiced cider on a cold morning instead. I did spend a year working next to a pizza cafe and got many a free cookie and coffee-drink from there. That's when I learned about the differences between lattes and americanos and macchiotos, etc. Although I do love an after-dinner espresso before a night of fun on cruises.
So to try out a coffee shop is not really common. It happened when I was helping out a stranger, really. I volunteered to help someone with a graduate school project, and we did it on the second floor of a local coffee shop, Red Rock Coffee. I was thinking of getting a mocha espresso, but ended up with a blended mocha (think cold and creamy). It was delicious, although I'm not really into spending $4.25 for a little caffeine-y goodness.
The place itself is on a corner in downtown Mountain View, and is rather pretty on the outside. Not because of paint or anything like that, but just because it is built in large stones instead of the same look every other storefront has in downtown. The menu is quite small, serving coffee/tea drinks and bottled waters.
